Last week we saw the fashion stars align over London as the Fashion Awards took place at the Royal Albert Hall. The host for the evening, Jodie Turner-Smith, turned all the fashion heads in multiple looks throughout the evening but her red carpet look was simply breathtaking- a neon green Gucci gown by Alessandro Michele which gave us all the ethereal feels. The big winners of the night went to Bella Hadid for Model of the Year and Pierpaolo Piccioli for Designer of the Year.
To show support for the Valentino designer’s big win, his very famous celebrity muses dawned some of the night’s best dressed looks from the designer himself. There was Florence Pugh in a Valentino Red satin gown draped with a train for days. Naomi Campbell in a silver sparkling gown with a cape that would rival any evening star in the sky, and Kristen McMenamy enrobed in a Valentino Pink PP feather cocoon.
Other notable entries on the Best Dressed List included Jodran Dunn in Stephane Rolland, Erin O’Connor in Erdem and Winnie Harlow in Iris Van Herpen Haute Couture. And while there was a plethora of styles showcased at British Fashion’s big night, the themes that felt most apparent were long trains, chic fabrics and gossamer silhouettes. It was a night of proper evening wear which I for one was thrilled to see.
